The meme I most relate to.
What happens as we get older? It seems even doing absolutely nothing saps our energy and we are tired tired tired!
What's going on and how do we take our energy back?
The Culprit
A big part of feeling zapped all the time is due to mitochondria damage. They are key energy sources for bodies and each cell holds hundreds of thousands of mitochondria - we have over 100,000 trillion in our whole body!
They take the food we eat and the oxygen we breathe and convert them into energy and are where metabolism happens.
So when they're not working properly, or they're damaged - which unfortunately happens very easily - your metabolism runs less efficiently. The quality and quantity of mitochondria also decrease as we get older.
What Harms Mitochondria
You know it, the usual lifestyle factors can make things worse. Things like smoking, stress, lack of sleep, environmental pollution like mould and smog, and eating a diet rich in refined sugar and flour.
What Helps Mitchondria
There are ways to help preserve your mitochondria for longer. Try and eliminate things like toxins in our air, water, and food (by using filters, buying organic and regenerative foods), and eating a low-glycemic diet. Consume less alcohol, exercise more, meditate for less stress or at least practice breathing exercises daily. It goes without saying that toxins in skin products and fragrances cause more harm than they're worth. Go natural with your fragrance, start switching out products for natural skin face oils.
Rebuild those mitochondria and take your energy back!
